The DOE Exascale Computing Project Expands the Project’s External Industry Council to Include Federal Agencies

The Department of Energy’s Exascale Computing Project (ECP) has expanded the membership of the ECP’s external Industry Council to include the participation of key federal agencies.

The renamed ECP Industry and Agency Council (ECP-IAC) will now include members from DoD HPCMP, NASA, NIH, NOAA, and NSF. This group of senior level industry, government and technical advisors serves as a conduit for the exchange of information and experiences between the ECP leadership, key industrial organizations and government agencies working together to advance the technology awareness and computational capabilities for the broad HPC community on the road to exascale.

The ECP-IAC assists the ECP director and leadership team by providing advice and feedback on project scope and requirements, technical approaches, progress, strategic directions, and other issues. Dave Kepczynski, Chief Information Officer, GE Research, who currently serves as the Chair of the Industry Council, will continue to serve as Chair of the ECP-IAC.
