Susan Coghlan, a computer scientist and leader in high-performance computing at Argonne National Laboratory, has been an extreme-scale supercomputer and systems integration expert for more than 25 years. She is currently the Argonne lead for the Collaboration of Oak Ridge, Argonne, and Livermore (CORAL), as well as the project director for the future systems of the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF).

Susan is the deputy division director for the ALCF and the project director for the facility’s powerful supercomputing systems, including Mira, the fifth fastest supercomputer in the world. She directs the installation of the supercomputers and ensures they meet the US Department of Energy’s mission needs. As the Argonne CORAL lead, Susan oversees a team of technical and procurement experts in procuring, preparing for, and deploying the advanced technology and leadership CORAL computers at Argonne.
