AMReX Helps Scientists Optimally Focus Computing Power on the Most Critical Problems

The AMReX: Block-Structured Adaptive Mesh Refinement (AMR) Co-Design Center of the US Department of Energy’s Exascale Computing Project (ECP) provides a software framework called AMReX that allows scientists to optimally focus computing power on the most critical aspects of a problem. Within ECP, AMReX aids the study of combustion, cosmology, astrophysics, and accelerators.

During the SC18 supercomputing conference, which took place in Dallas, November 11–16, AMReX project team member Ann Almgren of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory briefly described a simulation from an AMReX-supported project called Pele Combustion.

The AMReX: Block-Structured AMR Co-Design Center is led by John Bell of Berkeley Lab.
