Project Controls and Risk Manager
Monty Middlebrook serves as the Project Controls Manager for the Exascale Computing Project. Monty has worked with senior management for nearly two decades to successfully apply best practice project management and controls principles to a diverse array of projects. These projects, worth billions of dollars to both corporate and government sponsors, spanned numerous disciplines including construction (industrial, retail, commercial, residential development, etc.), information technology, high performance computing, and experimental science.
Prior to joining the ECP team, he worked on the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility’s (OLCF) Titan and GAEA project teams and later served as the ORNL Physics Division Project Controls Manager. Monty is a graduate of The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and The E.I. School of Biblical Training. Among his credentials and certifications, Monty has earned certification from the AACE (American Association of Cost Engineers) as a Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP)TM and the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP)® and Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)®.
