Runtime System for Application-Level Power Steering on Exascale Systems

The aim of this project is to provide a job-level power management system that can optimize performance under power and/or energy constraints. It will be configurable and cross-platform and will be mostly transparent to applications (except for some semantic data exchanges through Caliper).

This effort will integrate existing research efforts, incl. Conductor and Adagio, into the GEO runtime system project, an open source effort by Intel. This will enhance the GEO efforts and expand its capabilities by latest research efforts in this area, while providing a stable, industry supported open source solution. It will further extend GEO by new platform plugins, making its capabilities available to upcoming target platforms for ECP beyond Intel systems.
