Ristra: Next-Generation Multi-Physics Simulation for National-Security Applications

Principal Investigators: Aimee Hungerford, David Daniel, Los Alamos National Laboratory

The Ristra project is developing an agile and flexible toolkit to enable the development of a set of next-generation multi-physics codes in diverse application domains that span regimes from high-energy density physics (HEDP), including astrophysics and energy applications, to low-energy density physics (LEDP), such as the behavior of materials in extreme conditions. The need for agility and flexibility is driven by the need to respond to ever-changing demands from the basic science and programmatic questions underpinning the national-security enterprise.
